About Me
Hi! I’m Lisa Bradburn and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist qualifying and I work with youth, individuals, couples, and families.
One of my areas of focus is supporting active military members, veterans, and first responders, including through my work with Wounded Warriors Ontario. I’m experienced in treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, grief, and life transitions, with a trauma-informed approach that recognizes both the visible and invisible impacts of stress.
My work draws on modalities such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Gestalt therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients process underlying emotions that shape thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. I also support young children and families, helping caregivers better understand and respond to emotional needs while building secure connections.
I believe therapy works best when there is trust, safety, and clear direction. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you make sense of your experiences, and support you in building the insight and confidence needed for meaningful, lasting change.
My Journey From Corporate Coaching to Psychotherapy
I spent my early childhood on a farm, surrounded by nature and spending summers camping with family and friends. Those early years gave me a love of the outdoors, which I still nurture today through backpacking, hiking, and downhill skiing. As a teenager, I lived in Port Hope before moving on to work in Toronto, London (England), and New York City.
My 25-year corporate career began during the early dot-com era in project management and later evolved into coaching. I enjoyed helping teams find better ways to work together, but I found myself drawn to deeper one-on-one conversations about personal growth, resilience, and change.
In my early thirties, I became the primary caregiver for my uncle, who was living with an aggressive form of cancer. Witnessing his experience of retiring without a sense of purpose deeply shaped my perspective and future path. I knew I wanted my own life’s work to have ongoing meaning, connection, and impact. That time in my life led me to a career in psychotherapy, where I could help others in a deeper way while still making time for enjoying life on my own terms.
What You Can Expect in Our Therapy Sessions
While I may offer guidance, tools, and challenges, I believe you are the expert of your own life. This means that you’ll be the one deciding what is important to address in therapy, whether that’s working through a specific problem, exploring patterns in relationships, or looking at past trauma. Together we’ll look at what’s been holding you back, and what actions you can take so you can feel good about your future.
