(virtual or in-person)

Individual therapy is a one on one process between you and your counsellor. If you are looking for support with depression, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, stress management, orany other life challenge, we can help.

You are the expert of your own life, what our cousellors do is offer new tools and insights to support you, so that your feel more relaxed and in control of where your life is headed. What happens in session is up to you, your therapist is here to for what you want to discuss and explore, it’s your time.

Integra Skills Counselling offers individual therapy in person or through secure video (virtual therapy). It might feel a little strange at the start to open up and share your personal thoughts and feelings with someone you don’t know, but there is a great deal of freedom in talking to someone who has no other agenda but to help you succeed in reaching your goals!

Couples Therapy

(virtual or in-person)

People seek out couple therapy for a variety of different reasons. If you want to improve communication, learn to connect better romantically, prepare for marriage, find that “spark” again, or decide on what is going to be best for your relationship moving forward, therapy is a great way to strengthen your relationship.

Whether you’re reaching out for couples counselling due to a recent event, like moving, changing careers, becoming parents, or an infidelity, we can provide support and guidance to help you get back on track.

At Integra Skills Counselling, we offer therapy virtually and in-person to Individuals, Couples and for Family Therapy.

Family Therapy

(virtual or in-person)

Just because you love your family, doesn’t mean that it’s always easy to coexist with them. Families often experience conflict, as they act out old patterns. Secrets, shame, and resentments, often hidden from the outside world, can lead to significant stress. individuals and families often want help with managing the issues they are dealing with. We can offer helpful strategies and tools to assist with these family related struggles.

Imagine learning to communicate and hear each other with love and understanding, rather than fighting or retreating. When you discover how to “stay at the table” and listen and share in an authentic, open way, an amazing, healing peace can begin to grow in the family.

Sharing your family’s story and struggles with a counsellor might feel like an impossible task at first, but talking to a caring and compassionate person outside the family dynamic can actually create a safe space, where you can discover new ways to connect.

EMDR Therapy

(Through Secure Video)

If you have trauma that’s hurting your day to day life, you are not alone. Unresolved trauma is one of the major reasons people seek out therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapy in particular.

This approach to mental health support can be especially helpful with the following:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • PTSD
  • Performance Anxiety
  • Complex PTSD
  • Phobias
  • Grief/loss
How Does EMDR Work Online?

Although EMDR was first developed by using eye movement, there is more than one that EMDR can work. EMDR is effective due to something called bilateral stimulation – which is clinical way of saying alternating touch or movement happening on both sides of your body.

For the online version of EMDR, we use what is called the “butterfly touch” where you hold your hands, crossed in the middle of your chest almost like a butterfly, and you gently tap back and forth for that bilateral stimulation effect. The great part of this style of EMDR therapy is that you, the client, are able to stop at any time (which helps with keeping you feel safe and supported).

Parenting Therapy

(Virtual and In-Person)

The pressure on your shoulders to be a good parent can feel like carrying around an elephant on your back! Talking to a therapist to make sure you have the tools you need to do right by your child, while taking care of yourself can help take the load off.

Our therapists can help you to find sustainable ways to face the enormous task of raising a human being. Parenthood can be amazing, and awful, in the same day, or even the same minute. There is far more to parenting than just feeding and keeping your child clean and healthy and we can offer support so that you stay on track with everything.

If you have a significant other or co-parent, checking in with a counselling to make sure you are on the same page as each other when it comes to parenting styles and childcare is a win for everyone, especially your child, or children. Knowing someone is there to listen, to help you to investigate to see if you’re managing okay can be an incredible form of self care for a parent, no matter what age your child is.
