About Me
Hi, I’m Kaitlynn Ramadani,
I’ve been working in the area of mental health and personal growth for the past twelve years. Before becoming a Psychotherapist, I assisted with the care and support of at-risk youth and their families in wilderness settings and workshops. I’ve worked extensively with crisis and conflict. It was during this time that I began to see the great need for therapists in Canada, especially clinicians who are able to help individuals, couples and families who have more complex needs.
My own background is one where I grew up in a large family in a small town. I’ve recently moved back to Ontario from Alberta, and I’m glad to be back home, close to my roots. Outside of work, I have a busy family life with two kids and two dogs.
As a therapist for individuals, families and couples, I’m trained in many different methods for therapy, but at the core of things you can expect someone who is going to listen to you, believe you, and will give you honest, direct feedback. When it comes to working with younger individuals, I think often what’s missing from their interactions with others in their lives is honesty and consistency in communication. This approach also works well with couples, and sometimes it takes someone from outside of the relationship to spot and name an issue that has been hidden from view for many years. I also have specific training from the Institute for Relational Intimacy in offering therapy for a broad variety of sex issues that commonly arise in relationships.
Kaitlynn Is Trained In The Following Methods
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
- Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Attachment Theory
- Assessing and Treating Sex Issues in Psychotherapy (or ASTIP)
When you are able to shed light on problems, it's much easier to get them resolved
I’m here to help explore your struggles and solidify your strengths. I support families, parents, young people, individuals and couples. I love helping people learn better ways to communicate, to navigate conflict without fear, and to rebuild after trust has been damaged. It’s a joy to watch someone switch from a harmful way of coping, to something that promotes healing.
Therapy isn’t just about the heavy stuff
Life has its funny moments, and they don’t stop at the therapy room door. Yes, laughter happens in therapy more often than you’d think! So, while starting can be a tad nerve-wracking, remember we’re in this together, sharing both the ups and the downs.
