About Nicole Lethbridge

Hi, I’m Nicole,

I provide therapy for adults, adolescents, and children 6 years of age and older. I am a Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying, with a background as a caseworker for at-risk individuals in the Hamilton region. I’ve worked extensively with teens, Indigenous people, and our lovely 2SLGBTQ+ community. I provide therapy both online and in person out of Integra Skills Counselling’s Burlington location. I have special training specific for those who struggle with eating disorders.

“You must always have faith in people. And most importantly, you must always have faith in yourself.”- Elle Woods

I understand how difficult it can be to reach out when you’re struggling and ask for support, especially if mental health isn’t something talked about at home or in your social circles. As a therapist, I’ve witnessed first hand how transformative therapy can be, and it’s really an honour to be a part of your healing process. I want you to know that even when you are at your darkest moments, there is hope. You are capable of growth, and change, and having joy in your life.

My Journey To Becoming a TherapisT

I grew up in Hamilton, and early on in my life, a close family member struggled a great deal with their mental health. As a young child, I saw their struggles, and deeply felt the strain and ripple effects throughout my family. I was also able to see them get much needed help from caring mental health professionals. I saw how big of a difference a therapist could make in someone’s life, and it left a lasting impression on my young mind.

As I grew older, I started considering career paths, and working as a therapist felt like it would be a great match for my interest in psychology and my early impressions of the ways mental health professionals can positively impact lives. I also have seen a therapist myself from time to time and absolutely love the support that brings.

What You Can Expect In Our Therapy Sessions

One aspect of speaking to a counsellor that often goes unmentioned is the huge relief that can come from voicing your fears, regrets, and challenges to another person. My aim as your therapist is to make sure you feel supported and safe so that you can share what’s been on your mind. I have an integrative and eclectic approach to therapy, meaning that I don’t rely on just one modality to help with your mental health, we may use multiple methods to get you the best results possible.

In therapy, you might see big changes quickly, or it could be more like a slow process, kind of like watching a rose bloom from a bud. We’ll work together so you can learn more about yourself, what causes you stress, and what helps you to feel better. The focus in therapy is really on how to help adjust things for the better and make your everyday life more peaceful.

When I work with children, my approach is a gentle one that includes play, building trust, and curiosity. It may take a bit more time initially to have your child talk to me about their struggles than an adult, but once they open up, I am able to provide the appropriate support and care.

Support Can Make All The Difference

If you’ve been struggling, and are ready to make a change, getting a fresh view may be helpful. I am here to offer acceptance, curiosity, and a different perspective on the areas where you feel stuck in your life. If you’re interested in learning more, reach out. I’m accepting new clients and offer free consultations.
